VERIFY TRANSACTIONS WITH UNSUPPORTED ERC20 TOKENS

To manage ERC20 tokens that are not supported by Ledger Live, you can use an external wallet, such as MyEtherWallet . Be sure to verify all transaction details with your Ledger device to optimize security.

Before starting

Update Ledger Live via the notification banner or download the latest version .

*Get your Ledger hardware wallet.

*Learn how to set up and use MyEtherWallet .

Enable debug data

Before submitting a transaction for unsupported tokens, make sure you have enabled debug data . This will allow you to verify the details of the contract on your device.

*To enable debug data :

*Connect and unlock your Ledger device.

*Open the Ethereum app .

*Right-click to go to Settings . Then press the two buttons to confirm.

*In the Debug data settings , press the two buttons to allow debug data in transactions. The device will show Displayed .

Enter unsupported ERC20 token transaction details

To enter the details of an unsupported ERC20 token transaction:

1,Add the unsupported ERC20 token in MyEtherWallet . Check the MyEtherWallet guide to see in detail the steps to follow.

2,Enter the transaction details in the Send Transaction section of MyEtherWallet .

Verify transactions with unsupported ERC20 tokens

To verify and sign a transaction for unsupported ERC20 tokens:

1,On the Verify selector screen , right-click to review the Selector parameter :
Selector : 0xA9059CBB (the default selector of a token transfer)

2,Right-click to go to Approve . Then press the two buttons to confirm. The device displays Verify Field 1 .

3,Ptess the right button Parameter : the destination address

4,Check the address and then press the right button. Press both buttons to confirm. The device displays Verify Field 2 .

5,Press the right button to review the following parameter:

• Parameter: The number of tokens sent in hexadecimal format.
• How the actual amount of tokens is calculated
• For example, the number of tokens sent in hexadecimal format is 1B9DE674DF070000 .

1. Converts the number of tokens from hexadecimal to decimal format. 1B9DE674DF070000 in decimals is 1990000000000000000 .
2. Write down the decimals of the token. To find the decimal places of the token, go to Etherscan to see all the information of the token, including the decimal places of the token. In this case, the token has 18 decimal places.
3. Do the following operation:
   number of tokens in decimals / (10 decimal places of the token ) = number of tokens sent .
   In our example: 1990000000000000000 / (10 18 ) = 1.99

6,Check the number of tokens sent and then press the right button. Press both buttons to confirm.

7,Right-click to review the following transaction details:

• Amount : ETH 0. This is an ERC20 token transaction and not an ETH transaction.
• Address — The destination address
• Max Fees — The maximum fees for the transaction

8,Press the two buttons to select Accept and send the transaction.
